Quotas for meat and whey for 2023 distributed in EAEU

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) decided to establish and distribute tariff quotas for a number of meat products and whey for 2023. Press service of the EEC reported.

According to the forecast, the volume of consumption of products is expected to exceed their production. As for cattle meat, the figure will be 177,300 tons, pork — 62,300 tons, poultry meat — 242,200 tons and whey — 14,600 tons.

Tariff quotas for Kazakhstan and Russia were set in the amounts fixed in the protocols on the accession of states to the WTO. As for Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, they were determined within the difference between production and consumption, taking into account the volumes requested by the parties.

As for the cattle meat, the quotas will be 11,300 tons for Armenia, 21,000 tons — for Kazakhstan, 5,000 tons — for Kyrgyzstan and 570,000 tons — for Russia.

Quotas for pork will be distributed in the following volumes: 7,500 tons for Armenia, 20,000 tons for Belarus and 3,000 tons for Kyrgyzstan.

Quotas for poultry meat and poultry by-products will amount to 39,100 tons for Armenia, 10,900 tons for Belarus, 140,000 tons for Kazakhstan, 58,000 tons for Kyrgyzstan and 364,000 tons for Russia.

The quota for the import of milk whey is set for Armenia in the amount of 1,200 tons and Russia — 15,000 tons.
