Sadyr Japarov hands over helicopter, special equipment to Emergencies Ministry

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov handed over new special equipment to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Press service of the President reported.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations received an Airbus H-125 helicopter, buses, tracked and wheeled excavators, front and fork loaders, SUVs, and 150 mobile homes.

«Prevention of disasters and elimination of their consequences is an urgent need. In such conditions, we need to have modern, powerful equipment and means to ensure the safety of people. Since the establishment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the preventive measures taken have saved thousands of lives and eliminated the consequences of many natural disasters. Rescuers adequately fulfill their duties, gained extensive experience in international humanitarian operations. However, it is long overdue to strengthen the technical potential of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and provide them with new models of special engineering equipment and communications,» the head of state said.

It is reported that the helicopter and 34 units of the special equipment for 384,140 million soms were purchased at the expense of the budget. This year, it is planned to purchase another helicopter for 752,212 million soms at the expense of the budget.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, with the support of the Asian Development Bank, received 10 off-road pickup trucks, a minibus and 11 units of engineering heavy equipment for $1,023,480 million.

Sadyr Japarov inspected the hangar and the administrative building of the airfield of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, equipment and prefabricated mobile homes. The flight capabilities of the Airbus H-125 multi-purpose helicopter were also demonstrated to the President and participants of the event.
