At least 15 resorts, which have no treatment facilities, were not allowed to work in Issyk-Kul region. The head of the Water and Land Resources Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, Taalai Dalbaev, told at a briefing.
He reminded that the President Sadyr Japarov instructed to prohibit the work of sanatoriums, resorts, guest houses, hotels in the resort area, which have no water intakes, water supply system, sewerage network, sewage pumping station and treatment facilities. They were given time until January 1, 2023 to install treatment facilities.
«This year we did not allow 15 resorts to work. I think the number will increase next year,» Taalai Dalbaev said.
According to him, there are 212 recreational facilities, resorts and more than 700 guest houses in Issyk-Kul region. At the same time, 103 health resorts do not have their own treatment facilities, 48 of them are connected to other systems, and small guest houses and resorts use septic tanks.
«This is also not good, because sewage still ends up in the lake. There are modern treatment facilities that can be installed in small guest houses. We also need to work on this part,» he added.
In total, there are 124 treatment facilities at health resorts in Issyk-Kul region, most of them (92) are in Issyk-Kul district.
