Kyrgyzstan extended tariff preferences for the import of sugar and raw sugar until December 31, 2022. Press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
Until the end of the year, importers are exempt from duties for the supply of this product in the amount of up to 105,000 tons. Kyrgyzstan received such a quota in July this year. At the end of May, the country also imposed a ban on the export of sugar, which is planned to be extended until the end of the year.
To date, the finished product comes to Kyrgyzstan from India, and raw materials for processing cane sugar are imported from Brazil. Domestic factories will start production of beet sugar in autumn.
