Eight facts of mass food poisoning have been registered in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year. The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health reported.
In total, 84 cases of food poisoning with 408 victims were reportedly registered in the republic.
«During a laboratory study of clinical materials taken from victims and samples of food products, pathogens of bacterial infections, such as Salmonella enteritidis, Staphylococcusaureus, E. coli and others, were found,» the department noted.
It added that pathogens of bacterial infections can get into the food product through dirty hands, contaminated processing equipment and kitchen utensils, rodents, and so on. A violation of the technology of preparation, storage conditions and terms of sale of food products leads to further reproduction of microbes. As a result, a person becomes ill after eating such food products.
The last case of mass food poisoning was registered in Kadamdzhai district. At least 122 people turned for medical help.
