A rally in support of civil activists and bloggers, who were taken into custody for criticizing the authorities, was held today on the Old Square in Bishkek.
About 20 people participated in the rally. They are supporters and relatives of Tilekmat Kurenov, Melis Aspekov, Adilet Ali Myktybek, Amangeldi Artykov, Batmakan Zholdubaeva and Aizhan Myrsan.
According to the rally participants, the activists are being persecuted unreasonably.
Police officers approached the protesters and asked them to go to the Maxim Gorky park or make an appointment to meet with the President Sadyr Japarov.
