The population’s need for electricity in the upcoming autumn-winter season is estimated at 16,200 billion kilowatt-hours. The Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzaev told.
According to him, in order to uninterruptedly provide the population with electricity, import agreements have been concluded with neighboring states. At least 680 million kilowatt-hours will be exported from Kazakhstan in the autumn-winter period, 504 million — from Uzbekistan and 498 million — from Turkmenistan.
«In total, we import 2.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. The rest will be generated within the state. Due to this, rolling blackouts are not planned,» Doskul Bekmurzaev added.
He clarified that the Heating and Power Plans will expectedly generate 2.5 billion kilowatt-hours and hydropower stations — 10.9 billion kilowatt-hours.
