Electricity consumption record registered in Kyrgyzstan

A record consumption of electricity in the summer has been registered in Kyrgyzstan due to continuing abnormally hot weather. The National Energy Holding reports.

As of July 19, 2022, the daily consumption reached 34 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. Last year, this figure was 29 million kilowatt-hours, and in 2020 — 28 million kilowatt-hours.

«Together with the growth in electricity consumption, the water flow rate in Toktogul reservoir also increased and almost equaled the inflow. With a water level of 12.7 billion cubic meters, the inflow is 538 cubic meters, and the flow is 458 cubic meters. In this regard, the National Energy Holding urges consumers to save electrical energy to ensure reliable operation of the entire energy system,» the statement says.
