Tourists from European countries do not come to Kyrgyzstan because of the high cost of air tickets. The Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators reports.
According to it, a round-trip ticket from France to Kyrgyzstan from Turkish Airlines costs €1,600, a similar ticket from Germany will cost €1,200, from Switzerland — €1,877, and €1,500 — from Italy.
«Several companies have a monopoly in Kyrgyzstan, because of which prices skyrocket. It is urgent to open the sky for other airlines, otherwise tourists will see the country only on photographs on the Internet,» the Association commented.
Tour operators also note that all the efforts made to promote tourism in Kyrgyzstan are in vain due to the fact that tourists simply do not want to spend large sums of money on the tickets.
