The Eurasian Development Bank will provide a $3 million grant for the health sector in Kyrgyzstan. Acting Minister of Health Jarkynbek Kasymbekov announced at a meeting of the Committee on Social Policy of the Parliament.
According to him, the ministry plans to spend the funds on purchase of vehicles.
«We intend to spend $1 million on the purchase of 70 vehicles for $14, 000 each for the air ambulance service. It will be good, if we buy off-the-road vehicles, which are convenient to drive in mountainous areas. At the moment, we have 103 cars, but we need 246,» the official said.
The Ministry of Health will also buy 40 resuscitation ambulances at $50,000 each for $2 million.
«The resuscitation ambulances will be divided among the densely populated cities. Other vehicles could be sent to the mountainous areas,» Jarkynbek Kasymbekov told.
