Businessmen hold rally against installation of cash registers in Bishkek

Representatives of the jewelry business hold a rally in the Maxim Gorky park against the installation of cash registers.

«We protest against installation of cash registers and demand business licenses for us. We are not against raising of business license fees. Now they cost 2,800 soms. Let’s increase them to 5,000-6,000, we don’t mind. There are 1,500-2,000 of us jewelers in the country. We have a large revenue, but a small profit, because gold is expensive. We simply cannot work with a threshold of 8 million a year and cash registers,» Anara Ashirbaeva, the rally participant, said.

The participants noted that the business turned out to be on the sidelines during development of the bill. Nobody heard the position of entrepreneurs.

Rallies against installation of cash registers continue for the past six months. More than 200 entrepreneurs held a protest on June 13. After this rally, Akylbek Japarov was forced to partly give in to business. He introduced a ten-day moratorium on the installation of cash registers. It became known that a working group of entrepreneurs and representatives of state bodies has been created. It should study all possible options for introducing cash registers in the country.
