51 food poisoning cases registered in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of 2022

At least 51 cases of food poisoning have been registered in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of 2022. The head of the Office for Supervision over Food Safety and Prevention of Nutritional Diseases of the Department for Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health Azamat Imakeev told at a press conference.

According to him, a total of 185 people got poisoned.

«Five mass food poisonings were registered, 117 people suffered. The first one occurred in April in Issyk-Kul region. Then the schoolchildren got food poisoning, who, after Alippe Day event, ate cream cakes. Another five schoolchildren got poisoned in a cafe in Kadamdzhai. One girl had a birthday and they ate sushi and sushi rolls,» Azamat Imakeev said.

Cases were also registered on May 1 in Osh region (56 people suffered), on May 5 in Bishkek (11 people), and on May 10 in Sulukta (34 people).

«Summer has come, food products spoil quickly. We ask you to follow the simple elementary rules for their storage and look at expiration dates,» he added.
