Director of the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan Ravshan Sabirov met with the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri. Press service of the agency reported.
Ravshan Sabirov noted the possibility of creation of a sovereign fund with the Central Bank of the UAE with a certain amount of Kyrgyz gold in it under the state guarantee.
The Minister of Economy of the UAE expressed interest in investment projects provided by the Kyrgyz side, which will be considered by the UAE Investment Council. Intentions were expressed to construct trade and logistics centers, using the experience of the world port operator of Dubai, in particular, DP World.
The parties agreed on cooperation within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Emirati working group on the «government accelerator».
At year-end 2021, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the UAE amounted to $69 million. Compared to 2020, the figure increased by $52.7 million. At the same time, export of Kyrgyzstan is estimated at $54.7 million, import — $14.9 million.
