Kyrgyzstan proposes to revise barriers removal system in EAEU

«I believe that we need to revise the mechanisms for combating such a phenomenon as barriers,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said at the 1st Eurasian Economic Forum.

According to him, one of the most acute problems now, which is an obstacle to the sustainable development of integration, is the presence of barriers. Tomorrow, at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, a report on removal of barriers in the internal market of the Union will be presented to the presidents.

«I have previously read the information provided by the Eurasian Economic Commission. I think we need to think about expanding the powers of the Eurasian Economic Commission. At the same time, I also consider it right to reconsider the role of the EAEU court in this process. We can use the international experience here,» Sadyr Japarov said.

The head of state called on his colleagues in the EAEU to think about the spatial development of the territories. He believes that this should be implemented jointly and in a coordinated manner.

«In the current difficult time, and the conditions dictate it to us, the era of changes in the geopolitical and geo-economic space has come. We all remember the positive experience of planning during the Soviet era. I think that our integration needs full-fledged development institutions that can determine new priorities and prospects for the development of our union, develop projects, as well as effective tools and mechanisms for their implementation,» Sadyr Japarov concluded.
