A meeting-requiem was held in Bishkek on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov came to congratulate veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers. He, along with other officials, laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and paid tribute to the memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War with a moment of silence.
The head of state delivered a speech, noting that Victory Day is a national holiday that has become a symbol of military prowess, courage and glory.
«The names of Kyrgyz soldiers are inscribed in golden letters in the history of the Great Patriotic War. The eternal memory of their great feat will forever remain in the hearts and will inspire everyone to new achievements for further development of their beloved Motherland,» he said.
Sadyr Japarov greeted the veterans and accompanied them to the field kitchen.
