The President of Kyrgyzstan commented on the criminal cases against Bolot Temirov in an interview.
According to Sadyr Japarov, the case was opened three months ago. He assured that the investigation is conducted openly.
«The case was opened three months ago. It turns out that he received a passport of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan on a fake military ID. He stole a military ID, replaced a photo in it and changed his last name. He himself is a citizen of Russia. We have found the owner of the military ID. The Ministry of Defense also confirmed that Bolot Temirov has never served in the Kyrgyz army. There are hundreds of people prosecuted with such forged documents. Bolot Temirov is one of them. The case is so resonant just because he is a journalist,» the head of state said.
He suggested creating a commission of journalists.
«The Ministry of Internal Affairs will show you everything, everything is open. If you are a journalist, can you commit crimes and avoid responsibility? Are they different from others? Everyone is equal before the law,» Sadyr Japarov said.
On January 22, police officers, accompanied by special forces soldiers, came to the office of Temirov Live journalists in the capital. Bolot Temirov was detained and taken to the Bishkek police department. It became known that his colleague Bolot Nazarov was also detained together with him. Both were released under written undertaking not to leave the city.
Three more criminal cases were opened against the journalist. Bolot Temirov connects this with the latest investigation, which says that the company of the son of the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, Taimuras, won several tenders in Jalal-Abad.
