Bishkek will host a large-scale book festival as part of the World Book and Copyright Day on April 22. Director of the Republican Library named after Kasymaly Bayalinov, Roza Sultangazieva, told today at a press conference.
As part of the festival, about 50 different venues will be organized, including educational, technical and concert platforms, a puppet theater performance is also planned.
«Our library will also present all its resources, including Makerspace scientific and educational laboratory and the center for inclusive education,» Roza Sultangazieva said.
Director of the Central Institute of Bibliography of the Kyrgyz Republic Koichuman Momunkulov added that within the framework of the festival the results of «The Art of the Book» competition would be summed up, books of domestic publishers would be presented, which can be purchased at their cost.
It is noted that the competitive selection «The Art of the Book» was held in seven nominations. Applications were submitted by 18 printing houses and publishing houses, 31 books were selected. According to the results of the competition, seven books will be sent to the competition «The Art of Books of the Countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.»
