Cabinet's anti-crisis plan based on domestic resources only

«Today, within the framework of the anti-crisis plan, we are fully oriented and based on domestic resources,» Akylbek Japarov, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, said at a government meeting on anti-crisis measures.

According to him, in 2020, during the lockdown and «black» July, the country lived only on money received as foreign aid (about $350 million was collected).

«Financial institutions are also helping us today. But this is a small part of the anti-crisis plan. In January 2022, the growth rate of customs duties collection was 203.6 percent and the growth rate of tax levies reached 186 percent. In January 2022 alone we collected 15-16 billion soms more than in January 2021,» Akylbek Japarov said.

The government intends to encourage consumption through increase in salaries, allowances and pensions, he added. Increase in investments and tax collection for the implementation of strategic directions is also on the agenda.

«This year, we start construction of Kambarata-1 at our own. We are waiting for investors, but we are ready to build it ourselves. There are no good and bad for the state, there are useful and useless economic actors. External shocks have become almost commonplace for the country. In December 2021 no one suspected how much the world would change. That is why we have developed the anti-crisis plan,» he said.
