«Traumatology Department will no longer be here,» the Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said during a visit to the Clinical Emergency Hospital (former Bishkek Scientific Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics — BSRCTO).
He noted that the Traumatology Department would be opened at the National Hospital tomorrow.
«There was an Emergency Hospital for 70 years previously and everyone was brought here. Now it takes two or three hours for the ambulance to hospitalize a patient. Everyone will be brought here. We have restored justice,» the official said.
Pamir Muratov, chief physician of the hospital, noted that the hospital will only admit patients with traumas on an emergency basis.
«Trauma wards are moving out, three for adults — to the National Hospital and one — to the National Center of Mother and Child Welfare,» he clarified.
Instead, he said, the hospital is opening cardiology, neurology and short-stay therapy departments.
«The latter will have 20 beds. What it is needed for. Previously, there was a problem that the ambulance was not able to hospitalize patients with an unclear diagnosis. So they will be diagnosed and we will decide whether to admit them to hospital or send them for outpatient treatment,» he said.
On February 4, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev issued an order to reorganize BSRCTO into the Clinical Emergency Medicine Hospital. Its director Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov was dismissed, the post of director was abolished and the hospital will be run by a chief physician. Damir Duishenov was appointed to this position at first. However, Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov refused to accept the minister’s order and leave his office. But after a meeting with the President Sadyr Japarov, he changed his mind.
