Rally against the hostilities in Ukraine, which the Russian Federation calls a special military operation, is held near the Russian embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
Five civil activists came out to protest. The police forbade the participants of the rally to come close to the fence of the diplomatic mission and to take photos and videos in front of it.
«The purpose of our rally is one — we are for peace and against war. All this will affect Kyrgyzstan. We were not allowed to approach the embassy. But we are holding an exclusively peaceful demonstration,» a multimedia artist Elena Korn said.
Today is the eighth day of fighting in Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced start of a special military operation. It was regarded in Ukraine and in the West as a full-scale invasion.
Second round of Russian-Ukrainian talks is expected today. The main topic is a ceasefire.
