The ousted president of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev wished a Happy New Year on his Telegram channel.
The former head of state, who fled his homeland, wrote: «Let the riots, chaos, clashes, bloodshed not repeat in the country, nobody needs them!»
He thanked the Kyrgyzstanis who, through the social media, wish him and his family members a Happy New Year and write «pure and sincere wishes.»
According to Kurmanbek Bakiyev, these congratulations and wishes give him strength and inspiration as a person who has been abroad for many years.
He also feels that «the ice that has frozen for ten years is melting, and the steamer, which froze together with it, has begun to melt and is heading towards prosperity and development. It warms the soul and gives hope for something better.»
Kurmanbek Bakiyev also noted that he, together with the Kyrgyz people, rejoices at the changes that are taking place in the republic.
