Altynbek Zhumaev, General Director of the Channel 7, was appointed the head of the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Executive Office. Press service of the head of state reported.

Altynbek Zhumaev is a longtime associate and friend of the head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev. He is also a friend of the ex-speaker of the Parliament Akhmatbek Keldibekov. In 2017, together with the latter, he opened a television channel in Osh — NurTV. Prior to the appointment, he was an adviser to the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov.
It became known in 2020 that Channel 7 had been sold to the former president of the country, Almazbek Atambayev. The Military Prosecutor’s Office seized the property (Canal D LLC) on August 9, 2019. The channel building in Osh was sealed off. However, a few days later, investigators removed the seals and opened it for employees.
It turned out during the trial that in 2018 the owner of the channel Mairamkul Mambetalieva, according to its founders, sold the channel for 7 million soms to Almazbek Atambayev and Aprel Public Foundation. She said later that she had not signed any documents and had not made any deal.
