President officially opens Altyn Kazyk high-voltage substation

High-voltage 110/10 kilovolt substation Altyn Kazyk was launched near Bishkek today with participation of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov. Press service of the head of state reported.

This is the first substation for the years of independence built at the expense of the own funds of Severelectro JSC. The head of state was told about Altyn Kazyk construction project. He got acquainted with its functioning and control system.

Speaking to the gathered people, Sadyr Japarov congratulated the country’s power engineers on their professional holiday — Power Engineer’s Day.

«Energy is an industry of strategic importance for the entire economy of the country. Each of you makes a significant contribution to the reliable and stable operation of this system. Current difficult situation in this area requires hard work, professionalism and sincere dedication to the duty. You have important tasks ahead, for example, providing the population with electricity and heat. I hope that by your sincere work and many years of experience you will win the trust of our people,» Sadyr Japarov said.

The President noted that commissioning of the new 110/10 kilovolt high-voltage substation Altyn Kazyk will improve the quality of power supply to Dordoi, Ene-Sai, Dordoi-2, Tendik, Kelechek, Muras-Ordo residential areas and other settlements, as well as industrial and commercial facilities operating in these territories.

He stressed that the state is actively working to improve the living conditions of citizens living in these areas. In particular, the issues of drawing up documents for housing and improvement of infrastructure in residential areas adjacent to the capital are being actively resolved. The head of state reminded that similar work had recently begun in Ak-Ordo and Ala-Too-3 housing estates near the HPP-2 in Bishkek, and added that such problems had not been resolved for many years.

President Sadyr Japarov said that on his behalf, the Bishkek City Hall, together with Cadastre municipal enterprise, began technical study to legalize 69 hectares of land in Zher Yntymagy village. A special working commission has been created to carry out work at the local level. He noted the need to speed up work to improve infrastructure and solve the problem with electricity in residential areas.

«We have built the new substation without any external loans. We build all this on our own. Previously, we borrowed money that is why the debt of the energy system amounted to 130 billion soms. This progress gives us confidence in the sustainable development of our country’s energy sector. There are many such projects that we can implement ourselves. An implementation plan will be developed for each of them,» the President said.

The head of state drew special attention to the main priority measures aimed at developing the country’s power industry — the construction of Kambarata HPP-1 and the implementation of CASA-1000 export project, as well as the development of remote regions of the country to fully provide consumers with electricity.
