Over 1,000 newborns in Kyrgyzstan named in honor of Olympic medalists

More than a thousand newborn babies in Kyrgyzstan were named after the winners of the Tokyo Olympic Games. Press service of the Ministry of Digital Development reported.

According to it, 414 babies were named after Akzhol, Aisuluu — 323, Meerim — 374, Aiperi — 279. Triplet girls were named in honor of the winners of the World Wrestling Championship Aisuluu, Meerim and Aiperi in October.

Kyrgyzstanis won three medals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo: bronze — Meerim Zhumanazarova, silver — Akzhol Makhmudov and Aisuluu Tynybekova.

Earlier it was reported that the most popular names for newborns in Kyrgyzstan this year are Muhammad and Salikha.
