Emergency Situations Ministry of Kyrgyzstan sent out a warning about a sharp weather change.
Unstable weather will persist in Kyrgyzstan on March 23-24. Rain is expected in most of the territory of Osh, Jalal-Abad, Batken, Naryn regions, in mountainous regions — snow. Rain, turning into snow, is forecasted on March 24 at night in the foothill areas of Chui, Talas and Issyk-Kul regions. Precipitation will be intense in some areas of Chui, Osh, Batken, and Jalal-Abad regions. Ice, packed snow is expected on mountainous roads. West wind will reach 4-9 meters per second with a gain of up to 15-20 meters per second in some areas. A slight drop in air temperature is expected.
Unstable weather will complicate agricultural work, grazing and keeping livestock on pastures, work of motor transport, communications, energy and utilities enterprises.
Frost of 0 ...- 2 degrees Celsius is forecasted for March 25 at night in some areas of the agricultural zone of Chui, Talas regions, in certain piedmont regions of Osh and Jalal-Abad regions.
In connection with the expected precipitations, there is a danger of avalanches on Bishkek — Osh, Ala-Buka — Kanysh-Kiya, Krasnaya Gorka — Ak-Tash, Myrzake — Kara-Kulzha — Alaikuu roads. It is necessary to strictly observe the distance between vehicles of 500 meters on the roads when driving through avalanche-prone areas.
