Friday sermons in mosques of Kyrgyzstan will be preached in Kyrgyz and Russian only. The Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan confirmed the information.
According to its representatives, muftiyat issued an order to give khutbah in the mosques of the country only in Kyrgyz, and if necessary, in Russian.
«This is due to the popularization of the state language. The order applies only to Friday sermons,» SDMK explained.
Earlier, readers sent 24.kg news agency an audio recording, where, allegedly, kazy of Chui region scolded an imam of the mosque in Aleksandrovka village for preaching a Friday sermon in the Dungan language.
