General Director of OTRK Ilim Karypbekov refused to participate in elections. He posted on Facebook.
According to him, he was not the best leader of OTRK, there were a lot of mistakes, misconduct, and shortcomings. «I used to be tough, sometimes rude. I sincerely ask you to forgive me and understand. But one thing was always unchanged, no matter what decision I took — I was always guided by the interests of the society and OTRK team, I tried to stand for the channel’s positions to the end. Hopefully, I didn’t spoil the image of OTRK much,» Ilim Karypbekov posted.
He also thanked his eternal opponent Edil Baisalov for the criticism and wished good luck to all the contestants. He separately thanked one of the applicants for the post of general director of the channel Adil Turdukulov that he did not become personal in his posts and comments.
Thus, 18 people are running for the post. Today is the second day of the competition. Candidates must pass an interview.
A candidate for the post of head of OTRK must have a higher education and practical leadership experience of at least five years, be fluent in the state language, know and understand the principles of television and radio, and particularities of the TV channel.
An applicant cannot hold office in any social, political and religious organizations. OTRK CEO is elected for four years.
