A total of 29,718 crimes were registered in Kyrgyzstan in 2018. The Information Support Department of the Government’s Executive Office reported.
In 2018, the number of crimes increased by 7.2 percent compared to 2017, when there were 27,706 registered crimes.
«At least 32,360 crimes were under investigation, 19,861 of them were solved, which is 2.6 percent less than in the same period of 2017,» the head of government’s executive office said.
Investigation of 7,212 unsolved criminal cases has been suspended.
The government officials noted that as compared with 2017, the number of traffic accidents in the country decreased by 5.5 percent and the number of victims and injured in the accidents reduced by 21 percent.
«At least 1,418 traffic accidents with the participation of children were registered, which is 0.9 percent more than in the same period of 2017. The death toll of children decreased from 104 to 87, the number of injured reduced from 1,652 to 1,622. In total, 995,795 traffic violations facts were revealed in the republic,» the Cabinet added.
