The Bishkek City Administration invites interested companies to take part in the tender within public-private partnership project «Electronic Ticketing in Public Transport in Bishkek». The press service of the Bishkek City Administration reported.
According to it, to implement the project, a private partner at his own expense must establish in Bishkek a project company of a system operator. It will be given the right to manage and maintain the system for at least six years, to receive payment for its services in the form of fixed transaction costs.
A project company is required to develop a reliable technical solution for e-ticketing based on the DBFOT principle (design-built-finance-operate-transfer).
«The new fare collection system will be based on smart cards and take into account travels of passengers with the right of preferential travel (retirees, people with disabilities and other categories), ensure transparency of payments, and contribute to an increase in Bishkek passenger transport revenues,» the message says.
At the first stage, it is planned to install more than 300 validators in buses and trolleybuses and to issue from 300,000 to 600,000 smart cards on which trips can be loaded.
The introduction of electronic ticketing in Bishkek has been discussed since 2013.
