A monument to the national writer of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aitmatov will appear in Moscow. This was announced today at the regular meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Parliament and the Federal Assembly of Russia.
According to the deputy of the Federal Assembly Viktor Zavarzin, the monument will be installed in the near future. However, the place for it has not been chosen so far.
The Interparliamentary Commission is sure that the opening ceremony will take place within the framework of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov.
«I knew Chingiz Aitmatov personally. I worked with him in Brussels. He was an amazing person, a thinker. Look on the Internet what he said about the Russian language. I have not heard such statements before,» Viktor Zavarzin said.
