Reconstruction of the monument to Suimenkul Chokmorov has been completed. It will be installed near the Ala-Too cinema before the New Year. Altynbek Maksutov, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, said at a press conference.
The monument to the Kyrgyz actor Suimenkul Chokmorov was erected in 2017. It was made of bronze; its height was 3.6 meters. However, after the unveiling, the townspeople did not find any resemblance between the sculpture and the actor, on which 3 million soms were spent. After public criticism, it was decided to change the monument.
The authors of the monument are a sculptor Azamat Abdrakhmanov and architect Nurseyit Mambetkaziev.
