«The family doctors have a low salary, so the situation does not change for the better: young specialists do not come, and the older doctors do not have enough strength, especially since they work for a several people,» she said.

According to Suyumzhan Mukeeva, about 1,500 family doctors, 80 percent of whom are already pensioners, serve 6 million citizens of Kyrgyzstan today. The most bare are the areas, bordering with Kazakhstan: Panfilov district of Chui region, Tyup district of Issyk-Kul region and others.

In 2018, Kyrgyzstan marks the 20th anniversary of the creation of family medicine and the Association of Family Doctors and Family Nurses Groups.
