The Bishkek City Court left Salaidin Avazov, the Mayor of Jalal-Abad, in custody. The law enforcement bodies informed 24.kg news agency.
Earlier, Salaidin Avazov appealed the measure of restraint of the first instance court.
«The judges of the Bishkek City Court on May 7 upheld the decision of the first instance court. The court considered the arguments and complaints of the defendant as not subject to satisfaction. He will be kept in custody in the detention center of the State Committee for National Security,» the Interior Ministry said.
Salaidin Avazov was detained by SCNS officers within the criminal investigation, initiated by the Prosecutor General’s Office on corruption in the implementation of the project «Modernization of Bishkek HPP.» The former general director of Electric Stations JSC Salaidin Avazov and his deputy Zholdoshbek Nazarov were charged with corruption.
