According to the press service of the head of state, the Chairman of the National Bank informed the president about the situation on the foreign exchange market and measures to smooth out the sharp fluctuations in the exchange rate of the national currency, ensure the stability of the banking sector and monetary policy.
Tolkunbek Abdygulov told about the National Bank’s plans to develop the banking infrastructure and increase the share of cashless payments within the framework of the Main Directions of the Payment System Development for 2018-2022, as well as the events held by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic in honor of the 25th anniversary of the national currency — som.
«Sooronbai Jeenbekov stressed that taking into account the economic situation of the main trade partners of Kyrgyzstan, the National Bank and the government need to determine the extent of external shocks influence on the economy of the country. It is necessary to develop a plan of actions in case of negative impact of the situation in the foreign markets on the economy and entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan, engaged in the import and export of goods,» the report said.
The head of state noted the need for the speedy introduction of financial and banking services on the basis of innovative technologies, intensification of work on the development of non-cash payments, ensuring the availability of financial and payment services, especially in the regions.
