Today, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov together with the ex-head of state Roza Otunbayeva took part in the ceremony of laying flowers to the memorial wall to the victims of the April 2010 events in the memorial complex Ata-Beyit.
As eyewitnesses told to 24.kg news agency, the former leader of the country Almazbek Atambayev did not attend the ceremony.
Recall, the press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reported the day before that Sooronbai Jeenbekov invited Roza Otunbayeva and Almazbek Atambayev as ex-heads of state to take part in commemorative events on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the April People’s Revolution. However, Almazbek Atambayev did not come.
According to SDPK, Almazbek Atambayev will certainly visit the memorial complex Ata-Beyit, but a little later. He will also read a memorial prayer for the dead on April 7, 2010.
Roza Otunbayeva today participates in the official event for the first time since August 31, 2016.
