Regions of Kyrgyzstan remain without drinking water because of poor implementation of projects. Marat Oskombaev, head of the State Investment Program of the Ministry of Finance, said today at a meeting on water projects.
According to him, there are a number of problems in the implementation of projects. «As for to the execution of the budget, the Ministry of Finance has to state that by the end of 2017 the budget of the State Construction Committee on EBRD projects has been executed only by 37 percent. At all levels, little attention is paid to use of the money,» said Marat Oskombaev.
The Ministry of Finance has questions to the bank itself. «The analysis showed that it is not always possible to quickly get approval for a tender. Mayor’s offices also carry out poor work,» said Marat Oskombaev.
The government together with the European Union, the Embassy of Switzerland and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development are implementing projects in 16 cities and towns for €135 million.
