Prices in Kyrgyzstan may grow by 6.6 percent in 2019

From the second quarter of 2019, the price increase of 6.6 percent is expected in Kyrgyzstan. This forecast was included in the report of the National Bank on monetary policy for the third quarter of 2017.

The document notes that inflation according to the baseline scenario will remain at the level of 5-7 percent. In 2018, the average inflation rate will be about 4 percent. However, by the end of the year, prices may rise by 5 percent.

In 2019, the average inflation rate will reach 6.2 percent. However, by the end of the year, the rate will grow to 6.6 percent.

«Reversal of the downward trend of inflation amid the recovery of prices in world commodity markets and the growing aggregate demand are still expected,» the report says.

It should be noted that economists of the Eurasian Development Bank have a similar opinion. They forecast a rise in prices in Kyrgyzstan at the end of 2018 by 4.7 percent, in 2019 — by 6.3 percent.
