Kanatbek Isaev, suspected of attempted seizure of power, detained for 48 hours

Kyrgyz MP Kanatbek Isaev, who was detained by the State National Security Committee on suspicion of attempting to seize power, will spend 48 hours in the temporary detention center of the GKNB. The Investigation Department of the State National Security Committee intends to apply to the court to obtain an order for his arrest.

Previously, the press center of GKNB reported that "«it follows from the materials of the criminal case that Kanatbek Isaev, being an active supporter of the candidate for the post of President Omurbek Babanov, in collusion with the representatives of organized criminal groups, with the purpose of organizing mass riots and subsequent violent seizure of power, carried out the selection, bribery and training of young people including members of the organized criminal group, for use in illegal actions during and after the election of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, under the pretext of falsifying the results of voting».

The lawyers of the deputy don’t give any comments, as they signed non-disclosure agreement.
