Kyrgyzstani becomes world champion in belt wrestling

Kyrgyzstani became the world champion in belt wrestling. The President of the Belt Wrestling Federation of Kyrgyzstan Valery Fufachev informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the competitions ended the day before in Astana (Kazakhstan). About 220 athletes from 20 countries participated in it, including 20 Kyrgyz citizens. Our wrestlers performed at the men’s (freestyle and classical style) and women’s tournaments and won one gold, five silver and eight bronze medals.
Urmat Musadilaliev took the highest step of the podium at the tournament among wrestlers in the weight category of 90 kilograms. Nooruzbek Mirlanbekov, Oktombek uulu Asylbek, Sergey Fufachev, Aidar Erkulov and Kanybek uulu Myktybek took silver medals in their categories.
The team of Kyrgyzstan takes the third place in the final medal standings.
