»Kyrgyzstan and Russia are old friends and reliable allies who sincerely want to strengthen friendly ties between our peoples," Chynybai Tursunbekov, Speaker of Parliament, said at a meeting with his colleague, Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin.
According to him, cooperation with Russia always remains a priority in foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan. The Speaker of the Parliament also noted the active dialogue between all branches of power in all areas of cooperation between the two countries. As an example, he cited the state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev to Russia last week. One of the important documents that were signed following the visit, according to the Speaker, the agreement on writing off the debt of $ 240 million and the declaration of alliance.
«We are grateful to Russia for such a great gift as writing off $ 240 million. The signed declaration will result in further strengthening of allied relations. I also note that 2017 is special year for Kyrgyz-Russian relations. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries," Chynybai Tursunbekov said.
