Parliamentary working group will be formed to study the legality of mass felling of trees in Bishkek. The decision was made today at a meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development.
It was noted that the members of another specialized committee — transport, communications and construction — will be involved in the work.
The group is assigned to work for two months — July and August, in September the deputies will return to this issue. In case of detected violations, materials will be sent to law enforcement agencies.
Recall, a mass felling of trees takes place in Bishkek. The City Hall explains these actions by the need to expand roads, replace irrigation networks, promising to plant new trees and bushes.
