The center of Bishkek can be closed for private cars. Only bicycles and buses will move there. Deputy Ruslan Kazakbaev voiced such proposal at today’s session of the Parliament.
According to him, there is a need now to draw the attention of the government to the fight against gas pollution, traffic jams and traffic accidents in Bishkek. After all, recently the capital began to be called a city-killer due to frequent traffic accidents and a large content of harmful substances in the air.
«The problem of traffic jams is a real threat. The pace of the city’s activity is slowing down because of it. It’s almost impossible to move through Bishkek during a day. If earlier it was possible to get to the center from the southern micro districts in 20–30 minutes, now it takes twice as much time, and in the morning and in the evening — three times. In 2016, Bishkek was included the top most polluted cities in the world," Ruslan Kazakbaev said.
