School in Almaluu-Bulak village closed because of landslide threat

A school in Almaluu-Bulak village, Suzak district of Jalal-Abad region was closed because of landslide threat. Press service of the Emergency Situations Ministry reported.

The ministry reminded that a landslide descended in the village in April 2016. Then, the affected residents asked to provide them with a land for housing in a safe place.

Due to the fact that the transformation of agricultural land into settlement land category took time, Suzak district administration has allowed citizens to remain in place until April 2017.

However, heavy rainfall again caused landslide threat. Therefore, on February 9 it was decided to resettle the citizens, turn off power supply and close the school.

Previously, the government reported that villagers of Almaluu-Bulak affected by the landslide would receive land in safe areas. According to the government decree, 35 hectares of non-irrigated arable land have been allocated for housing construction.
