The Kyrgyz government introduces dual control over turnover of alcoholic beverages in the country. Information Support Department of the Cabinet said.
It is noted that previously the Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Land Reclamation quickly to bring into line regulations, concerning the control over alcoholic beverages' turnover. The Ministry of Agriculture had also to speed up work on the introduction of a single state automated system.
State regulation, licensing and control of the production, trade and import of ethyl alcohol and alcoholic products functions were transferred from the Tax Service to the Ministry of Agriculture.
The government is sure that the concentration of all functions in the STS has led to a decrease in the government’s attention to the development of the alcohol industry and reduction of its export potential. The Cabinet believes that the transfer of functions will assign the authority on the development of the alcohol industry to the Ministry of Agriculture.
The State Tax Service kept the function of issuing excise stamps, setting tax posts at the alcohol industry enterprises, raid tax control and collection of the excise tax.
