Kubanychbek Zhekshenbekov has been appointed Director of Ala-Archa State Nature Park. The decision was made by the Presidential Affairs Department.
He previously served as deputy head of the park.
Ala-Archa Park was established in the spring of 1976 to protect the Ala-Archa River, the natural environment of the gorge, and to develop ecotourism.
Currently, only electric vehicles are allowed into the park; they pay a special entry fee and can use the road up to the alpine camp.
