Education Minister visits dilapidated schools in Aksy district

The Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva got acquainted with the condition of two dilapidated schools in Aksy district. The press service of the ministry reported.

According to her, school No. 65 in Sary-Kashka village was built without compliance with the standards using the «ashar» method in 2003. The old building was overhauled as an additional unit and put into operation in the same year. At least 426 students go to the school and 39 teachers work there.

In 2022, in order to prevent accidents, material costs and avoid human casualties, based on the conclusion of the Ministry of Emergency Situations No. J-22, a decision was made to build a new school in accordance with the requirements for the educational process and construction. The facility was included in the 2025 estimate.

The building of secondary school No. 33 in Toruk village consists of two units. The first was built by the Ulyanov collective farm in 1990 for a kindergarten. Its condition is satisfactory. The second was built using the «ashar» method by local residents in 2002.

On February 9, 2021, the Civil Defense Commission of Aksy district drew up an act on the suspension of the educational process in the second educational unit. It was also included in the estimate.

Currently, 438 students go to the school, 34 teachers and 11 technical staff work there.

«The minister called on school managers and the head of the district to pay close attention to the condition of educational buildings and be responsible for their preservation. Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva told about changes in the field of education, new tasks and improving its quality,» the ministry reported.
