Eight billion soms are needed to purchase school textbooks. Finance Minister Almaz Baketayev announced at a meeting of the Committee on Social Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
MP Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva noted that the problem of a shortage of textbooks is raised every year and is not resolved.
«Every year we allocate from 150 to 200 million soms to purchase textbooks. In order to provide schoolchildren with books, 8 billion soms are needed. And we, together with the Ministry of Education, are introducing mechanisms to solve this problem in the next three years. Perhaps, we will release e-books, tablets. Eight billion soms is a large amount of money. Therefore, we are solving this issue in stages,» Almaz Baketayev said.
