The results of participation of Kyrgyzstan’s schoolchildren in the international PISA study may be not very successful. The Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva said.
«As a result of COVID-19, as the study by McKinsey analytical research center has shown, 1.5 billion students dropped out of the educational process, the most successful countries were affected in the field of education. But we are making efforts. The most important thing is that we will make everything possible,» she said.
The minister added that it did not depend only on teachers and asked parents to get involved to successfully pass the test. «Now we are starting large-scale activities to raise awareness, to form PISA-oriented tests. And they are available,» she noted.
Recall, the study will be held in March-April next year.
- PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) is an international program for assessing the educational achievements of students. Students from about 100 countries are expected to participate in the PISA study in 2025. Kyrgyzstan participated in PISA twice: in 2006 and 2009. Both times it took the last place.
