Access to Instagram has been blocked in Turkey by a decision of the Information Technology and Communications Council. TASS reported.
The reasons and duration of the blocking are not reported on the agency’s website.
The social media platform has been unavailable since Friday morning, neither from mobile devices nor from computers.
The media speculate that this decision was made in connection with the blocking of condolences on Instagram in connection with the murder of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran. This decision was condemned by Fahrettin Altun, head of the Directorate of Communications of Turkey.
