New bridge across Urmaral river opened on Talas - Taraz road

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov took part in the opening of a new bridge across Urmaral river on Talas — Taraz road. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

The event took place in a video conference format.

Akylbek Japarov expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for supporting the project and emphasized the importance of developing transport infrastructure for the country’s social and economic growth.

He noted that the construction of the new bridge is a vivid example of fruitful cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.

«This is not just an infrastructure project, it is a symbol of friendship and partnership between our states. We highly appreciate Japan’s support in the development of the Kyrgyz Republic and are confident that this bridge will serve for the benefit of our peoples for many years,» Akylbek Japarov said.

He added that he supported with great pleasure the initiative to name the object «Sakura Bridge.»

Construction of the 90.5-meter bridge began in 2021. It is three times longer than it was before. The bridge and its structure, including the approach roads, were designed using advanced Japanese technology.
